The State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Hon. Chief Tony C. Okocha, has reaffirmed his unshakable loyalty to the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), His Excellency, Chief (Barr) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
Okocha, in a press statement issued on October 31, 2026, by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Amb. Vincent Gbosi, said he remains a loyal, committed and integral pillar of the Rainbow Coalition under Wike's leadership.
He was reacting to reports that he shunned the Mega Rally of the Rainbow Coalition held in Port Harcourt and that his absence was linked to an alleged N667 million fraud.
According to the statement, Okocha was unavoidably absent from the rally due to a personal health concern outside the state, which was duly communicated to the appropriate leadership of the Rainbow Coalition.
The statement described the report of a rift with Wike as the handiwork of desperate detractors who are pained by Okocha's rising popularity and his principled stand for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
"Hon. Chief Tony Okocha remains focused, unshaken and fully committed to the Rainbow Coalition under the leadership of His Excellency, Hon. Chief (Barr) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. No amount of sponsored falsehood will distract him," the statement read.
Okocha warned those behind the smear campaign to desist, stating that he would not hesitate to take legitimate legal action against purveyors of defamatory falsehoods.
