Hon. Engr Austen Ben Chioma, a former commissioner for works and leader of Rainbow Coalition in Umuselem clan, Etche LGA has called on party leaders and stakeholders in Rainbow Coalition movement to intensify grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general election, saying delivering Rainbow Coalition candidates is a task that must be done.
Chioma made the call on Sunday during a strategic meeting with leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress and Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Etche Ward 8, Odufor community.
Speaking at the meeting, he reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the leadership of the FCT minister, Chief Barr Ezenwo Nyesom Wike and the unity of the Rainbow Coalition in Etche LGA in particular and Rivers State at large.
According to the engineer turned politician, Rainbow Coalition movement in Rivers State remains one united family under Nyesom Wike and every attempt to undermine the unity and strength of the movement must be resisted.
"There is Rainbow Coalition in Nigeria. The APC, PDP, SDP, Labour Party etc in Rivers State stands firmly with Minister Wike," he said.
He also used the opportunity to appreciate his political leader, His Excellency Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, for his confidence in him and his role in his political journey.
Chioma stated that loyalty and alignment remain key, noting that whoever works with him must work for the Rainbow Coalition ably led by Chief Wike, stressing that loyalty, unity and collective responsibility must remain the guiding principles of political engagement.
He further charged party leaders and stakeholders to deepen their presence in every community and intensify grassroots mobilization to secure overwhelming victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and all Rainbow Coalition candidates in the 2027 general elections.
"We have a responsibility to consolidate our party's strength and ensure that we deliver convincingly for all Rainbow Coalition. Delivering Rainbow Coalition candidates and all our party candidates in 2027 is a task that must be done," he added.
The meeting, which had in attendance ward chairmen, youth leaders and stakeholders, ended with a renewed commitment to party unity and grassroots work.
